HIRING A BIKE
FOR MARIA ISLAND

Bikes may be hired by booking when you purchase your ferry ticket or on a walk-up basis once you are on the island. As we have a limited number of bikes on island, booking with your ferry ticket is the only way to guarantee a booking. During the Summer and holiday period bookings are relatively high so availability for walk up hires may be limited on any given day.

To book a bike with your ferry ticket simply select the BIKE HIRE option on the booking website. When you book you have the ability to include comments on the pick up requirements. We encourage visitors to detail the bike sizes required in those comments. Information on sizing is detailed in the FAQ section of this website.

You will collect your bike from the Bike Hire station on the island. This is a 10 minute walk from the jetty and is located near the Ranger Station. When you collect your bike you will need to complete a waiver form and the attendant will provide information on operation of the bike and riding conditions. There is a grassed area near the hire station for you to familiarise yourself with the bike. If you are not comfortable or confident with riding we will provide a full refund of your hire fee. The collection process will take around 15 minutes.
